Far from the madding crowds, North Bali still bare the original beauty of the Island. Munduk Moding Plantation is a raw gem nestled in a coffee plantation and surrounded by jungle. An Eco-Luxury resort where waterfalls, fields of hydrangeas and black sand beaches are within reach.
ROOM AT MUNDUK MODING PLANTATION
The renowned of Munduk Moding Plantation has grown, but the resort still sports a limited amount of accommodation, guaranteeing a more intimate experience and infinite possibilities of personalisation.
The Coffee Villa has a large bed with draped mosquito net and an equally large bathroom with bathtub, outdoor plus indoor shower and closet. On two third of the room, glass windows have replaced walls. When waking up in the morning or taking a shower, it looks like you’re amongst the lush jungle.
Around 3 hours from the airport and 2 hours from Ubud (depending on road conditions and traffic), the resort is secluded. At 1000 meters above the sea level, the spectacular views of the coast, the volcanoes of Java and the rainforest are well worth the drive.
Although quite remote, there is no shortage of activities in the area. Horse riding, trekking, canyoning, exploring hidden waterfalls, visiting Lovina and its black sand beaches…
On the mornings, a deep fog surround Munduk Moding Plantation. The breakfast area, next to the infinity pool, benefits from this peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.
Breakfast dishes and the meals at the restaurant in general are fresh and tasty. The majority of the food is grown on the property or harvested locally. There is several options between Indonesian, Balinese, Italian, Vegan or Vegetarian. A huge bonus given the very few dining alternative in the area.
Munduk Moding Plantation offers a variety of regional activities.
Movies are projected daily and visit of the property as well as afternoon tea are offered to guests. But the stars of the show are the infinity pool and jacuzzi overlooking the Java Sea.
Explore the plantation and especially the herb garden, from there the views are breathtaking. Also, at night the light pollution is almost non existent, take a moment to look for the milky way.
WHAT WE LIKED THE MOST
- The Infinity pool
- The fresh produces and food quality
- Incredibly well preserved surroundings and nature
WHAT COULD BE DIFFERENT
- Coming from South Bali, where the temperatures are high, the constant humidity in the bedroom can be uncomfortable.
